## What''s actually happening in Vienna
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest reaches its grand final in Vienna on May 16, 2026. For the first time since 2003, the participant list dropped to 35 countries — five pulled out over Israel''s participation. The boycotting countries are Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, and Iceland.
## Why this is the most-screenshotted market we have
Eurovision in 2026 carries the full weight of the 2025 chapter that nobody forgot. A New York Times investigation found that Israel''s campaign to stay in the contest was broader and earlier than known — triggering boycotts, diplomatic pressure, and a crisis inside Europe''s biggest music competition. Swiss singer Nemo, the 2024 winner, has returned their trophy in protest.
Then the qualifying night happened — and Israel''s Noam Bettan reached the final with the pop song "Michelle," through "stop the genocide" chants in the arena.

> We have one market on the outcome — does Israel win? Closes before the show, resolves on the EBU''s official scoreboard the same night.

## How the resolution works (no ambiguity)
The EBU publishes an official scoreboard at the end of the live broadcast. Israel either finishes first or it doesn''t. If the show is postponed for any reason, we extend the market by up to 14 days. No interpretation, no committee call.
## The bigger picture — other political markets to watch
The Eurovision market doesn''t live alone on iCashy. We have a cluster of markets around the same theme of "what happens at the edge of mainstream international acceptance":

## FAQ
### What if the EBU disqualifies Israel after the show?
The market resolves on the live-broadcast scoreboard. A post-show disqualification does not retroactively change the trade outcome.
### Where can I follow the running result?
Watch the live broadcast on Eurovision.tv, EBU member-broadcaster streams, or any local TV that picked it up.
### Why aren''t there separate markets on the boycotting countries?
Because no boycotting country can win — by definition, they''re not competing. Only the active 35 countries are eligible. If you want a broader market, vote on what the next year''s lineup looks like in the [community-suggestion section](/markets).
